Board Member | Legal Background

Capilano Community Services Society (CCSS) is seeking a volunteer Board Member with a legal background to join its Board of Directors. This role is well suited to legal professionals interested in contributing their expertise in a community‑focused, non‑profit setting. CCSS is a registered society dedicated to fostering safe, inclusive, and healthy communities, delivering programs and support services for children, youth, families, and seniors on the North Shore. The organization operates from the Lions Gate Community Recreation Centre.

As a Board Member, you will provide strategic leadership, governance, and oversight, working collaboratively with fellow directors and the Executive Director. Responsibilities include advising on legal and regulatory matters, supporting risk management and policy development, reviewing contracts and governance documents, and participating in committees and strategic planning.
