Description
INKspire is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our Board of Directors as Board Member, Fundraising for a one-year renewable term. In this volunteer leadership role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping our fundraising strategy, securing financial resources, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our organization. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a growing non-profit organization while empowering the next generation of writers and creators.
Time Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per month, including participating in board meetings, attending occasional special events, and ad hoc consultations with the executive and fundraising team.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Advise on best practices for fundraising and financial sustainability, including grant writing, budgeting, sponsorships, partnerships, donations, and managing multiple revenue streams.
- Propose opportunities for fundraising, including but not limited to grants, sponsorships and partnerships.
- Act as the primary liaison between the board and the fundraising team.
- Collaborate with Board Member, Treasurer/Finance to monitor revenue streams.
- Attend regular and emergency board meetings.
- Represent the organization at public events when needed.
- Advise on INKspire’s mission, vision, and goals, and provide strategic guidance when needed.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in fundraising, development, or revenue generation.
- A relationship-builder and connector, able to help build awareness, and develop partnerships for INKspire.
- Experience in grant writing, sponsorships, crowdfunding, and other fundraising initiatives.
- Previous entrepreneurial, leadership, and/or coaching experience, including building and scaling teams, addressing challenges, and providing strategic advice.
- Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.
- A collaborative work style with strong interpersonal skills.

Selection Process
- The Co-Executive Directors will screen applications and propose candidates for the interview stage.
- The 1st interview will be with the Co-Executive Directors.
- The 2nd and final interview will be with the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors.
- References may be requested.
- After the last interview, candidates will be notified whether or not they will be selected for the role.
