About Laadliyan
Laadliyan is a Canada-wide non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating and empowering South Asian daughters of all ages through education, engagement, and awareness. As we strategically expand our footprint across Western Canada, we are seeking a well-connected, senior-level BC Regional Lead to join our Board of Directors, This individual will play a pivotal role in anchoring our community roots, unlocking corporate and philanthropic resources, and guiding our growth in the Lower Mainland and beyond.
Role Summary
The BC Regional Lead will serve as our provincial champion, bridging Laadliyan’s national mission with the unique corporate, philanthropic, and community landscape of British Columbia. This board member will provide strategic oversight and high-level networking to drive regional fundraising revenue, secure key institutional partnerships and introduce Laadliyan to BC-based funders, corporate sponsors, and decision-makers.
Region Focus: Lower Mainland/ Greater Vancouver Area (Surrey, Vancouver, Burnaby, Abbotsford, Fraser Valley)

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Regional Growth & Governance:
- Provide strategic guidance on BC-specific market needs, regional demographic priorities, and equity-focused expansion approaches relevant to the Lower Mainland's diverse South Asian communities.
- Represent BC interests and growth metrics at the board level.
High-Value Fundraising & Sponsorship Development:
- Spearhead regional fundraising strategies tailored to the BC corporate and philanthropic sectors.
- Personally cultivate, steward, and solicit major gifts and sponsorships by leveraging your existing executive and community networks in Western Canada.
- Develop multi-year partnerships with BC-based corporate sponsors, particularly those with strong diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) mandates or a focus on the South Asian community.
Executive Advocacy & Partnership Sourcing:
- Serve as an ambassador for Laadliyan at local networking events, cultural celebrations, and provincial gatherings.
- Leverage senior-level relationships to secure high-impact corporate partnerships, institutional funding, and strategic regional resources.
- Provide high-level guidance and endorsement to enhance the success, visibility, and credibility of Laadliyan’s BC initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Professional Standing: 7+ years of professional leadership, executive management, or established community leadership experience within British Columbia. Prior governance or non-profit board experience is highly preferred.
- Deep Regional Network: A robust, active network within the Lower Mainland/Greater Vancouver corporate sectors, philanthropic foundations, or major South Asian community organizations.
- Influence & Access: Demonstrated capability to open doors, influence decision-makers, and connect Laadliyan with BC-based grant-making bodies, family foundations, or government programs.
- Cultural & Regional Insight: Deep familiarity with the cultural, social, and economic landscape of BC's South Asian communities, particularly across Surrey, Burnaby, Vancouver, Abbotsford, and the Fraser Valley.
- Mission Commitment: A strong passion for Laadliyan's mission and a visible commitment to gender equity and the empowerment of South Asian women and girls
Time Commitment
- Approximately 3–5 hours per month for strategic planning, high-level outreach and governance oversight.
- Attendance at quarterly Laadliyan national board meetings (virtual or in-person).
- Attendance and representation at Laadliyan's BC community and fundraising events.
- Availability for key in-person stakeholder meetings in the Lower Mainland Area
