Are you passionate about African-centered community empowerment, women’s mentorship, and sustainable impact? Rafiki Bridge is inviting visionary, community-driven leaders to join our Board of Directors and help shape the next chapter of our impact in Toronto and Kenya.

About Rafiki Bridge

Rafiki Bridge is an African-centered, community-rooted organization committed to bridging people, culture, and opportunity. Our work is grounded in the belief that when communities are equipped with knowledge, resources, and dignity — transformation happens.

We focus on programs that sit at the intersection of menstrual health, education, cultural identity, and empowerment, with a mission to build sustainable solutions that center African communities and amplify their voices.

Our Core Programs:

Bridging Circles (Toronto): A program supporting immigrant and refugee wo

men of African descent through mentorship, wellness circles, and community integration. It provides a safe space to build connection, confidence, and belonging.

Adolescent Girls Mentorship & Menstrual Health Program (Kenya): A grassroots initiative promoting sustainable menstrual health solutions, leadership development, and educational mentorship for adolescent girls.

Through these initiatives, Rafiki Bridge champions equity, dignity, and empowerment, creating bridges between communities locally and globally.

We Are Seeking Board Members Who:

Are passionate about African-centered community development, equity, and social impact.

Bring experience or strong interest in areas such as:

Nonprofit leadership or governance

Fundraising, grants, and partnerships

Strategic communications, marketing, or advocacy

Finance, budgeting, or operations

Education, menstrual health, or gender equity

Policy advocacy and community engagement

Can commit to attending bi-monthly board meetings (virtual or in-person as needed).

Are willing to contribute strategic guidance, champion the mission, and help grow the organization’s reach and sustainability.

As a Board Member, You Will:

Shape the vision and strategic direction of Rafiki Bridge.

Strengthen our partnerships, funding opportunities, and community networks.

Provide governance oversight and ensure the organization remains mission-focused and impactful.

Act as a community ambassador, advocating for menstrual health equity, education, and empowerment in African and newcomer communities.

Contribute your expertise, voice, and leadership to build sustainable, African-centered solutions that transform lives.
