Board Member
At Cambridge Food Bank, we are working to create an equitable community where everyone is nourished. As a vital hub for over 150,000 residents, we aim to be “more than a food bank,” providing emergency food assistance alongside health, fitness, and wellness programs, including diabetes education, yoga classes, community gardening, a mobile food market, and more.
We are currently seeking individuals with experience in charitable finance, governance, and demonstrated leadership experience, including those interested in progressing into future board leadership roles. We welcome candidates with diverse backgrounds and lived experience who are passionate about strengthening community impact. By volunteering a few hours each month to guide the strategic direction and oversight of our not-for-profit organization, you will play a meaningful role in advancing our mission.
Commitment:
- Successful candidates will be appointed to a 2-year term commencing in September 2026
- Board meetings are scheduled one year in advance with 10 meetings annually
- Meetings are held in person at 54 Ainslie St South in Cambridge on the 4th Monday of the month (2–2.5 hours)
- Board members are expected to sit on one committee (Governance, Nominating, or Finance)
- Anticipate approximately 3–4 hours per month for board responsibilities
- This is a volunteer role
