For over 85 years, the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton has played a vital role in supporting individuals and families during the holiday season - bringing together community, compassion, and meaningful support when it’s needed most.

Working alongside an extensive network of partners and volunteers, we deliver our Festive Food Hamper Program with a focus on dignity and impact.

As we look to the future, we are seeking passionate, thoughtful leaders to join our Board of Directors and help shape the next chapter of our work.

What You'll Do

As a member of our Board, you'll help us:

• Keep our mission, vision, and values front and center
• Make sure we're on track with our goals and plans
• Be good stewards of our resources
• Spread the word about the Christmas Bureau and all the good we do

What We're Looking For

You'd be a great fit if you:

• Love what we do and want to make a difference
• Are excited to give back to your community
• Are looking to learn and grow (this is a great board for first timers!) and are open to being mentored to move into a Board Committee chair position, or the Board Executive Committee
• Bring a unique perspective and represent the diverse communities we serve

Bonus points if you have experience in:

• Finance or accounting, CPA designation is preferred
• Marketing & Communication experience or designation
• Governance experience or designation
• Working with diverse communities
• Fundraising for community or non-profit organizations

Time Commitment

• 3-year term with the option to renew for two additional three year terms
• Bi-monthly meetings and an annual board retreat
• Participation in at least one board committee

• Mandatory 8+ hours of volunteer work per year above your board committee commitments
