About RWRC:
For 50 years, the Richmond Women’s Resource Centre (RWRC) has helped women with resources, agency referrals, support groups, workshops, training programs and volunteering opportunities. Our goal is to provide community-based resources and support to help women build connections and thrive in our Richmond community. Position Summary:
RWRC is looking for new Board members. We are particularly looking for candidates with previous Board experience, accounting or bookkeeping experience, legal experience, fundraising or event planning backgrounds. Of course, you need to be passionate about supporting best outcomes and inclusive
experiences for all women in Richmond!
We would love to hear from you if:
- You are passionate about advocacy for women and girls.
- You have experience on other governance-focused community Boards.
- You have a background in accounting or bookkeeping.
- You have experience in fundraising, event planning and/or grant writing for a nonprofit organization.
- You have information technology skills or have contributed to website development or maintenance.
- You are a lawyer or legal assistant. We would love to offer more legal support programs.
- You have experience with strategic planning and organizational change management.
- You have time and enthusiasm to work together with others in support of these causes.
All RWRC Board Members are responsible to:
- Prepare for and actively participate in monthly Board meetings.
- Join RWRC Committees and Task Forces as needed and attend RWRC events. All Board members are expected to help with our International Women’s Day event in March.
- Commit to the vision, mission, and values of RWRC.
- Help ensure effective fiscal management of RWRC.
- Actively engage in strategic planning.
- Be an advocate for RWRC in your community and encourage and promote participation
with our services and programs. - Stay informed on the work of RWRC and local Women’s issues.
