About
Penny Lane Farm Sanctuary is a non‑profit sanctuary caring for abused, neglected, and at‑risk farmed animals — including horses, pigs, cows, goats, turkeys, sheep, and others. Operating on a 50‑plus acre property, we provide life‑long homes to animals rescued from abuse and slaughter. We rely entirely on donations and volunteers.
We are seeking 4 compassionate, strategic-minded individuals to join our Board of Directors in a volunteer capacity. Board members play a vital role in keeping our sanctuary funded, visible, ethically governed, and mission‑focused.
Commitment
- Board meeting virtual attendance: 1 hour virtual monthly meeting (currently it's to be the second Tuesday of each month, but this can be adjusted)
- 1-3 hours a week towards supporting new initiatives, projects, administration tasks, etc. depending on the committee role you are taking on
Roles and Responsibilities
- Strong alignment and compassion for animal welfare
- Working knowledge of non-profit organizations
- Participate in strategic planning, approve budgets, review audit reports, and oversee key organizational decisions
- Advance policies related to governance, fundraising, and donor relations
- Respect for the vegan values of the sanctuary
