Board of Directors - Volunteer Role
Redemption Paws is a Toronto-based registered charity that has rehomed over 4000 dogs since 2017. We focus on responsible, ethical rescue and foster-based placement for dogs displaced by natural disasters, overpopulation, and systemic neglect.
We are currently seeking four new Board Members to help guide the organization through its next phase of growth and stability.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants from outside the animal welfare world, especially those who bring clarity, balance, and practical skillsets. Ideal experience includes (but not limited to or necessary):
- Law (nonprofit, contract, or compliance)
- Finance or accounting
- Governance or nonprofit operations
- HR, strategic planning, or risk management
- Fundraising, digital media, or public policy
Previous board experience is an asset but not required.
Redemption Paws is committed to building a Board of Directors that reflects a wide range of lived experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives. We strongly encourage applications from individuals of all identities, including those who bring insights shaped by race, gender, ability, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, or immigration experience. A diverse and representative Board is vital to effective, compassionate leadership and decision-making.
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must be individuals 18 years of age or older, and be capable of managing property (not bankrupt or deemed incapable).
Responsibilities
- Attend 3 to 4 board meetings per year (remote-friendly)
- Provide oversight on financial and strategic decisions
