About the Role:
This is a volunteer position on the Board of Directors. The role is hybrid, with a mix of virtual and in-person meetings (Calgary-based when possible).
Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per month. Monthly board meet and additional committee work.
Term: 2-year term.
Board members work closely with fellow directors and the Executive Director to guide strategy, financial oversight, and organizational growth.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking individuals with experience in governance, human resources, or strategic planning. Strong communication skills, teamwork, and a proactive attitude are essential. Previous board experience is an asset. A passion for Calgary Wildlife's mission is required as is a genuine interest in helping the organization continue to grow.
We also welcome individuals with Alberta-based experience in wildlife rehabilitation, veterinary practice, ecology, conservation, or wildlife care operations.
Proactive nature and willing to take the lead on projects in collaboration with other board members and executive director.
Priority Skills & Experience
Fundraising experience is highly valued.
Non-profit board experience an asset.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and governance.
Oversee financial stewardship.
Participate actively in board and committee meetings.
