About ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development:
ErinoakKids is Ontario’s largest Children’s Treatment Centre, providing comprehensive, family‑centred services for children and youth. Our clients have a wide range of physical and/or developmental disabilities, communication disorders, autism, and some of the children we care for are blind and/or deaf. Serving Peel, Halton, Dufferin, and for some of our services Waterloo and Wellington, ErinoakKids offers a broad range of therapies, medical services, and support for children and their families.

The Opportunity:
ErinoakKids is seeking dedicated community leaders to join our volunteer Board of Directors. Board members play a vital governance role by contributing to strategic direction, policy development, fiduciary oversight, and fundraising initiatives.
This is a meaningful opportunity to apply your skills, experience, and passion to improving the lives of children, youth, and families in your community.
Key Responsibilities:
Board members provide governance and oversight, including:
• Offering strategic leadership and approving strategic planning in alignment with the ErinoakKids vision, mission and values.
• Ensuring strong financial stewardship, including budget approval, financial monitoring, audit review, and investment oversight.
• Supporting resource development through relationship building and community engagement.
• Contributing to Board succession planning and overall governance effectiveness.
Term & Time Commitment:
• Term: Initial three (3) year term, eligible for one additional three (3) -year renewal.
• Time Commitment: Monthly Board meetings, participation on at least one Board Committee, and participation in philanthropy initiatives.
• Format: Hybrid (combination of in‑person and virtual participation).
Desired Skills:
We welcome applicants with experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Strategic planning
• Legal expertise
• Human resources and organizational culture
• Communications, marketing, and public relations
• Innovation, technology, and future focused thinking
• Governance and policy development in the charitable sector
• Financial oversight and fiduciary responsibility
• Resource development and donor engagement
• Not for profit or charitable sector leadership
• Lived experience as a client or caregiver
All volunteers must have a current satisfactory criminal record check. Consideration will also be given to enhancing the geographic and diverse representation of the Board.
