Location: Ajax, Ontario (meetings hybrid/in-person)
Commitment: Volunteer, approximately 4-6 hours per month
Term: 1 or 2-year renewable

About Progressive Life Centre

Progressive Life Centre (PLC) is a nonprofit organization based in Ajax, Ontario, dedicated to empowering growth, wellness, and community through innovation. We support children, youth, and families — particularly those with neurodiverse needs — through evidence-based group programs, parent coaching, and community partnerships that foster inclusion, confidence, and belonging.

Opportunity

We are seeking passionate and community-minded individuals to join our Board of Directors. Board members play a vital role in shaping our strategic direction, ensuring sound governance, and championing initiatives that strengthen community connections and family wellbeing.

Ideal Candidates

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences who share our values of equity, inclusion, and empowerment.
Skills and expertise we are particularly interested in include:

Finance, accounting, or legal experience

Fundraising, marketing, or communications

Human resources or nonprofit governance

Community development and lived experience with neurodiversity or family support services

Responsibilities

Attend quarterly Board meetings and actively participate in discussions and decision-making.

Serve on at least one committee or working group.

Support fundraising, community engagement, and advocacy efforts.

Act as an ambassador for Progressive Life Centre within your networks and community.

Time commitment: approximately 4-6 hours per month (including meetings, preparation, and committee work).
