BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOMINATIONS CALL 2026

WE ARE CURRENTLY RECRUITING FOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Lumacare is actively seeking committed and enthusiastic individuals to join our esteemed
Board of Directors. Lumacare is a leading not-for-profit organization that provides in-home
support and community programs to older adults in the North York and Toronto communities.

Lumacare advocates for and delivers high-quality, client-centered home and community
services, providing dignity and choice for aging at home.

As a Board Member, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our organization and
contributing to the well-being of our communities. We are seeking an individual with the
following qualifications:

- Demonstrated leadership experience in either the nonprofit sector or related fields.
- Proven strategic development skills with the ability to contribute to long-term planning to
help guide our organization towards greater success.
- A commitment to the mission and values of Lumacare.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

As a Board Member at Lumacare, you will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic guidance and contributing to the development of organizational goals and objectives.
- Attending eight to ten board meetings per year and serving on at least one committee of
the board which typically meets on a quarterly basis.
- Collaborating with fellow board members to ensure effective governance and oversight.
- Supporting fundraising initiatives and as well as directly investing in Lumacare work by
making a personal contribution each year.

Lumacare welcomes applicants reflective of our community's cultural and gender diversity in
North York and Toronto. Preference will be given to individuals that reside or work in our
operating area.
