Board of Directors Member
Help Shape the Future of Patient Advocacy and Navigation in Canada
The Canadian Association of Health Advocates and Navigators (CAHAN) is seeking dedicated and visionary leaders to join our volunteer Board of Directors.
CAHAN is a Canadian non-profit organization focused on advancing the emerging profession of Patient Advocacy and Navigation through professional standards, accreditation, and credentialing.
Patient Advocacy and Navigation is rapidly expanding across healthcare, rehabilitation, disability management, insurance, mental health, and community care. This profession is growing because effective Patient Advocacy and Navigation improves coordination of care, strengthens continuity of services, reduces fragmentation, and supports better outcomes for individuals, families, employers, and care systems. But across Canada Patient Advocacy and Navigation services and quality can vary widely because the field has had no professional standards up to this point. CAHAN is addressing this gap.
We are seeking Board members who are passionate about healthcare improvement, professional development, governance, and system transformation. Individuals with experience in governance, patient advocacy and navigation navigation, marketing, fundraising, legal, policy, or organizational leadership are encouraged to apply.
This is an opportunity to:
- Help establish and govern a growing profession in Canada
- Contribute strategic leadership and governance expertise
- Collaborate with professionals and leaders across sectors
- Advance equitable, coordinated, and person-centered healthcare experiences for Canadians
- Support the development of national professional standards and accountability mechanisms
Join CAHAN’s Board of Directors and play a foundational role in shaping the future of Patient Advocacy and Navigation in Canada.
