Board of Directors Member
Board of Directors: Members wanted
Eli’s Place is seeking dedicated leaders to help bring a transformative mental
health treatment facility to life in Canada.
About Eli’s Place
We are building the country’s first long‑term, rural, residential treatment and recovery-based program for young adults (18–35) living with serious mental illness. This therapeutic community will focus on sustainable recovery, resilience, and the development of essential life and work skills. We also play an active role in public education to deepen understanding of severe mental health challenges.
The Eli’s Place model is based on proven programs operating in the U.S. and internationally. These centres show clear, measurable impact: improved employment and education outcomes, greater housing stability, and reduced homelessness, emergency department visits, substance use, and other social costs.
Position Overview
It’s a pivotal moment for Eli’s Place. With our site now secured, we are preparing to welcome our first clients in the second half of 2026. The Board currently blends governance and hands-on operational work, supported by experienced administrative staff; recruitment for an Executive Director will begin soon. Fundraising remains a core element of our work.
We are seeking Board members, preferably located in the GTA, who believe in
this mission and bring expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Fundraising and philanthropy
- Clinical mental health
- Land development / real estate
- Communications and public engagement
If you’re ready to help build an urgently needed resource for young adults and strengthen mental health care in Canada, we would like to hear from you.
Please submit a resume and cover letter to Annette Smith at annette@elisplace.org by December 19, 2025.
