Join Youthdale’s Board of Directors!
Youthdale Treatment Centre is seeking skilled and passionate volunteer Board Members for a three-year term, commencing September 2026, to help guide the organization in empowering young people to lead ‘healthy and thriving futures.’
We are looking for dedicated individuals to help drive our initiatives forward and make a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve.
Organization Overview
Youthdale Treatment Centres is a leading non-profit and charitable community agency dedicated to serving children, youth, young adults and families struggling with complex mental health concerns. Our mission is to support the journey to wellness with professional therapeutic services and collaborative support.

Role Overview
The Board of Directors has overall responsibility for the governance of Youthdale, including the following:
- overseeing and guiding the organization’s executives
- reviewing and approving the organization's financial statements, budget, and financial policies
- ensuring there are adequate systems and controls in place to ensure quality care
- overseeing the management of strategy and risk
- ensuring regulatory and ethical compliance
- shaping and monitoring the implementation of Youthdale’s strategy
Time Commitment
Board members are expected to attend 8–10 board meetings per year (2-3 of those in person) and participate in at least 1 board committee. Successful candidates should expect 6–8 hours per month of time committed to board activities.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking diverse individuals with previous Board experience or those who are interested in gaining Board experience and have other strengths and lived experiences to contribute. We encourage applicants from equity-deserving groups to apply (including Indigenous persons, people of colour, persons with disabilities, of minority sexual orientations, gender identities, and others).
Desirable Attributes
A variety of backgrounds are needed, however experience in the following areas would be a significant asset:
- Executive/senior level leadership in health care
- Legal
- HR Labour Law
- Governance/Risk/Strategy
Additional Assets
- Ability to contribute to setting strategic direction
- Experience in monitoring and supporting organizational performance
- Willingness and ability to take on leadership roles in committees and the Board
