Family Day Care Services is a non-profit organization with a long history of providing services to children and families. Our current strategic plan is focused on INNOVATION and we are seeking board members who can assist us in fulfilling our vision and mission.

We are seeking individuals with board experience in a number of key areas, including financial acumen, fundraising, marketing and corporate development.

Recognizing that diversity is a fact in the communities we serve across the GTA, we strive to ensure that our Board of Directors, staff and management team, are truly representative and inclusive of the communities that we serve.

Term: One Year (initial term)
Board Meetings: Last Wednesday of each month – combination of online/virtual and in- person meetings (North York 404 & 401)
Directors’ Liability Insurance: Yes
Conflict of Interest Policy: Yes
Commitment: 4 to 6 hours per month
Required Financial Contribution: Board Members are encouraged to make a contribution to both the United Way and the organization’s annual fundraising campaign.
Process: Applicants should be residents of Toronto, York Region or Peel Region. Experience in the community sector and an understanding of diverse communities are assets.
The Board’s Nominations Committee will conduct a pre-screening call and a personal interview.

Family Day is a non-profit, charitable organization that has provided services to children and families for 1 5 years. The agency has a strong legacy of innovation and was among the first organizations in Toronto to provide orphanages in the 1850s. Family Day was a leader in the development of supervised foster care in the 1920s and among the first in Ontario to develop day nurseries in the 1940s.
