Food Banks BC Board Vacancies
Food Banks BC is seeking committed, passionate individuals to contribute to our work tackling hunger and reducing food insecurity in British Columbia. We are accepting applications for a minimum two-year term commencing in 2026. We encourage applications from anyone interested in supporting work to eliminate hunger and ensure equitable access to food for all British Columbians.
As a provincial association supporting over 100 charitable organizations throughout the province, we strive to ensure that we have understanding and guidance from all cross-sections of our society and diverse communities in our province. With a commitment towards bettering diversity in all areas of our operations, including at a board level, we welcome all applicants, including those from BIPOC communities, people with disabilities, persons from the LGBTQ2S+ community, and new immigrants to Canada. Additionally, we encourage applications from individuals who have lived experience of food insecurity and poverty. We seek to ensure that the board’s composition reflects a balance of skills, experience, knowledge, perspectives, independence, and characteristics, aligned with the strategic needs of Food Banks BC and the environment in which we operate.
We also seek applicants who have experience in one or more of the following areas;
• Poverty Reduction Strategies
• Food Education and Food Policy
• Government Relations and Advocacy
• JEDI Strategy
As BC’s provincial association of food banks, Food Banks BC represents and supports 111-member food banks across the province and is a proud member of Food Banks Canada. Food Banks BC has been operating since 1998.

Who we are and what we do
Food Banks BC is a trusted, respected, and critical organization in the province’s social service framework. We actively support 111-member food banks and dozens of other hunger-relief agencies across the province in their efforts to achieve hunger-free communities.
Food Banks BC collaborates with a wide range of stakeholders to reduce food insecurity in BC through innovative, respectful approaches that provide equitable access to food. We are committed to working towards sustainable solutions and systemic change that reduces hunger and the need for food bank services.
