Unpaid Volunteer Position

Lend your expertise to a dynamic board with a mission to provide affordable housing and programs for seniors living in a non-profit residence and the local community near Christie Street and St. Clair West in the city of Toronto.

For our Board of Directors, we are seeking individuals who have:

  • Time to commit to regular Board & Committee meetings and review of materials in advance of meetings.
  • Diversity of thought and culture.
  • Passion and commitment to affordable housing and seniors programs.
  • Strategic thinking and an understanding of how good governance improves organizations.

Requirements and Competencies:

  • Have experience with not-for-profit good governance practices.
  • Have experience that will contribute to business acumen and planning.
  • Have experience in one or more of the following: social housing, property management, asset management, management/administration, legal, or human resources.
  • Be willing to learn, disseminate, and apply new skills.
  • Be professional, reliable, and punctual.
  • Possess good listening and communication skills.
  • Respect diversity and differing opinions.
  • Be comfortable speaking in a group and interacting with others.

We are seeking enthusiastic, experienced, and knowledgeable members who can commit to being actively involved in organizational governance. The board meets eight times a year and terms are three years, with an option to renew for a second term.
