About SOAR Community Services
SOAR Community Services is a purpose-driven nonprofit dedicated to supporting meaningful change in individuals and our community. We provide a diverse range of services across housing, justice, employment, mental health, and addictions. We have an impact, serving nearly 11,000 people last year.
Opportunity
We are currently seeking passionate, community-minded individuals to join our Volunteer Board of Directors. As a board member, you will play a vital role in guiding SOAR’s strategic direction, ensuring strong governance, and championing our purpose in the community.
We are seeking individuals with a background in finance, accounting, or related fields to strengthen our Board’s financial oversight and strategic capabilities. CPA designation is considered a strong asset. Your expertise will help guide fiscal responsibility, establish effective financial policies, and contribute to the sustainability and growth of SOAR’s vital programs. If you’re passionate about making a tangible impact in your community and want to lend your financial acumen to a purpose-driven organization, we would be thrilled to hear from you.
Responsibilities
• Commit to SOAR’s purpose and values
• Attend and actively participate in board meetings (virtual or in-person)
• Provide strategic oversight and support to the Executive Director
• Serve on at least one board committee (e.g., Recruitment, Policy) meeting an
average of 3 – 4 times per year
• Act as an ambassador for SOAR in the community
Ideal Candidates

No previous board experience is required - just a commitment to equity, collaboration, and community impact.
