Board Director - Volunteer

Lifelong Learning Canada/LLC (Also known as Canadian Learning Trust or CLT) is a lifelong learning community as well as a not-for-profit charity that encourages and promotes learning for learners of all ages in all kinds of learning. Our programs include The Gifting of Learning, where individuals seeking financial assistance to pay for their learning endeavours can launch a campaign to raise funds. We also celebrate the excellence in learning by organizations and communities across Canada. We have a vision of a prosperous Canada enriched with learning - a Learning Canada.

LLC’s values include the problem-solving approach of purposeful learning; the celebration of learning experiences by learners, communities, and workplaces; diversity and inclusion for all learners and their learning; the generosity of people who help learners to keep on learning; and building alliances through collaborations that leverage creativity and innovation.

Ideal Candidates: LLC is seeking one or two adult Canadians to join its board of directors. We invite applicants from diverse backgrounds and learning sectors who have an interest in advancing our mission, vision and values forward.

These individuals will ideally bring expertise, dedication, lived experience, and shared vision to LLC. We are seeking additions to our team with a variety of qualifications and interests, including:

• Capacity to contribute time, energy, and resources
• Serving a minimum 3-year term
• Board leadership in the non-profit sector
• Fundraising abilities and/or connections to sources of private or public support
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills
• Strong community ties
• Strategic thinking
• Passion for lifelong learning
• Computer and internet connection as this is a virtual position.
