Unpaid Volunteer Position

Help strengthen the financial sustainability of crisis support in our community - the Distress Centre of Ottawa and Region (DCOR) is seeking a volunteer Treasurer to join its Board of Directors.

The DCOR Treasurer provides governance-level oversight of the organization’s financial health, sustainability, and risk management. Working closely with the Executive Director, the Treasurer ensures the Board has clear, accurate, and timely financial information to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities include oversight of budgets and financial statements, monitoring performance, supporting audit processes, ensuring appropriate financial controls, and contributing to long-term financial planning.

  • Board Treasurer role (Executive Committee)
  • Prior Board or governance experience required
  • Professional background in finance, accounting, or financial management
  • Bilingualism is an asset
  • Commitment: 3-5 hours per month, on average
