Board Director – Ottawa Regional Youth Choir (ORYC)
Founded in 1982 by Barbara Clark (CM), the Ottawa Regional Youth Choir (ORYC) is one of Ontario’s premier youth choral organizations, providing exceptional musical training, leadership development, and performance opportunities for youth aged 15–25. As a volunteer Board Director, you will help guide ORYC’s long-term vision and ensure its values — choral excellence, inclusion, collaboration, and service — are reflected in everything we do.
Directors are appointed for a two-year period and attend approximately eight board meetings per year (six regular meetings of about 90 minutes, one spring planning retreat, and one budget meeting), as well as applicable committee meetings. They are expected to contribute to strategic planning, governance, and decision-making, participate in at least one standing committee or project, attend and assist at ORYC concerts and events, and engage in orientation and ongoing board development.
