What you will do

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision to the organization.
  • Collaborate with other board members to set organizational goals and policies.
  • Ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organization.
  • Advocate for the mission and values of Dolphin Democracy.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including donors, partners, and the community.

What we are looking for

We are recruiting for two complementary director profiles to round out our founding Board:

Director Profile 1 — Governance & Strategy

  • Required: Proven experience in a leadership role
  • Required: Strong understanding of non-profit governance and operations
  • Optional: Experience in environmental advocacy or conservation
  • Required: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Director Profile 2 — Marine Science & Ocean Conservation

  • Required: Background in marine biology, ocean science, or cetacean/marine mammal research
  • Required: Demonstrated commitment to ocean conservation or environmental science
  • Optional: Experience in scientific governance, research institutions, or academic leadership
  • Required: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
