Leading Change Canada is seeking new Directors to join its Board. If you are passionate about the role of young people in the transition to a sustainable, prosperous, and socially just future and can bring experience and expertise to support an early-stage national not-for-profit organization, we encourage you to apply.
About the Leading Change Canada Board of Directors
Leading Change Canada is a federally incorporated non-profit organization. The Board of Directors serve as the organization’s legal governance body and are responsible for the adoption of bylaws and policies, the establishment of any special committees, the stewardship of long-term financial health, and the fulfillment of the organization’s mission.
The Board meets virtually on a quarterly basis. The approximate time commitment is 3-5 hours/month depending on circumstances, committee involvement, and/or special events.
The term commitment for Directors is a minimum of two (2) years.
What we are looking for in Directors
Leading Change is seeking new Board members with expertise in the following areas:
- Finance and Accounting: A Treasurer with strong financial oversight and accounting experience
- Marketing and Communications: A senior-level professional skilled in marketing strategy, community engagement, and public relations
- Fundraising & Strategic Partnerships: Individuals with experience in fundraising, partnership development, and volunteer management
Subject matter knowledge related to sustainability and/or non-profit governance is considered an asset.
Board members will be selected based on fit with the current Board and management team, and alignment with the organization’s strategic direction during this exciting phase of growth.
Leading Change values and encourages the contributions of individuals who identify as members of underrepresented communities in positions of leadership or power. We recognize that structural barriers shape experiences and opportunities and take this into consideration with screening and selection decisions.
