Northstar’s Board of Directors is currently seeking applications from interested candidates with a strong finance background (e.g., CPA). We are looking for passionate leaders who believe in youth justice and want to help guide Northstar’s strategic direction and financial stewardship. As a board member, you will play a key role in advancing our mission and ensuring our organization’s long-term sustainability. Who we are: For 45 plus years, Northstar has offered a wide range of programs and services for young people and families in Durham Region. These include specialized assessment, counselling and mental health supports for youth in conflict with the law and their families; intensive one-to-one support for youth who are high risk; supportive educational programming for students through our 2 on- site classrooms; free violence prevention workshops; and specialized assessment/treatment services for youth and families. Role Description As a Board Member, you will be responsible for attending regular board meetings, participating in strategic planning, and providing oversight and guidance to the organization. Additional duties include supporting fundraising efforts, ensuring financial accountability, and advocating for the organization's mission and goals.
