Board Chair: Global Strategy & Human Advocacy
Board Chair: Global Strategy & Human Advocacy
About Phenix Advocacy Center (PAC)
Phenix Advocacy Center (PAC), a registered charity, exists to create a global community where canine professionals achieve wholeness and safety. We envision a world where exceptional, mission-driven talent is the driving force behind professional advocacy. We are the industry’s specialist sanctuary, providing the resilient foundation necessary for those who protect and care for dogs.
We are at a pivotal moment of institutional scaling. The vision is set; we are now appointing a Board Chair to provide the strategic governance and hands-on rigor required to cement PAC as the definitive independent voice for professional wellbeing.
The Role: Strategic Leader & Builder
The Chair is the primary steward of PAC’s mission and its market independence. This role goes beyond oversight; you will shape a high-performance board culture and put systemic, industry-wide change into motion. You will serve as a vital partner to the Executive Director (ED) and a bridge to global stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Defensive Governance: Lead board meetings and ensure all actions protect PAC’s mission, intellectual assets, and legal standing.
- Strategic Scaling: Partner with the ED to implement a foundational strategic plan that ensures long-term autonomy.
- High-Productivity Culture: Foster a collaborative environment that capitalizes on board members' strengths while mediating complex disputes.
- Revenue & Growth: Identify and lead the pursuit of diversified revenue streams and corporate partnerships.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are seeking a "Strategic Builder" who brings corporate or academic rigor to this mission-driven cause.
- Senior Leadership: Demonstrated experience in scaling organizations, finance, or HR.
- Mental Health Advocacy: A strong commitment to (or background in) wellbeing to support members facing burnout and crisis.
- Global & Risk-Conscious Mindset: A perspective that values diverse lived experience and deep knowledge of nonprofit risk management.
- The Assertive Collaborator: Ability to keep high-level meetings on track with productivity and empathy.
