About This Volunteer Role

Volunteers are a vital part of the Dorothy Ley Hospice team. More than 200 dedicated volunteers contribute their time and talents in a wide range of roles, helping us provide compassionate care and support to individuals and families across our community.

This volunteer opportunity directly supports fundraising efforts that help sustain the many programs and services offered by Dorothy Ley Hospice. Through our participation in the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association (OCGA) program, Dorothy Ley Hospice receives a portion of charitable gaming proceeds. In return, we are required to provide volunteer representation at a local OLG gaming facility.

As a Gaming Centre Volunteer, you will represent Dorothy Ley Hospice during scheduled shifts at the Delta Bingo & Gaming location on Evans Avenue. Volunteers help raise awareness of our mission by engaging with patrons, answering questions about the Hospice, and supporting general operations within the gaming centre.

Volunteers in this role will be provided with a Dorothy Ley Hospice collared shirt and name tag and are expected to act as friendly and professional ambassadors for the organization. Your participation helps generate essential funding that supports hospice palliative care, grief and bereavement services, caregiver support, wellness programs, and other community-based services offered by Dorothy Ley Hospice.
