About Union Savings

Union Savings is Canada’s only not-for-profit, union-run members’ benefit program. We work with unions across Canada to provide members and their families with access to discounts and savings opportunities.

We are looking for a Bilingual Membership & Outreach Coordinator to help strengthen our relationships with participating unions, increase awareness and participation in the Union Savings program, and support the growth of our network of union affiliates.

This is a relationship-focused position for someone who enjoys meeting people, building partnerships, presenting to groups, attending events and working directly with unions and their members.

The position may be based in Montreal, Ottawa or Quebec City and requires regular travel.

What You’ll Do

Working closely with the Membership & Outreach Director, you will:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Union Savings affiliates and their representatives.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for French-speaking affiliates and members.
  • Organize and participate in meetings with affiliates to discuss Union Savings programs, member engagement and participation.
  • Attend union conventions, conferences, meetings and member events throughout Canada.
  • Conduct visits to union offices and workplaces as required.
  • Help develop and implement strategies to increase participation among existing Union Savings affiliates.
  • Support the recruitment and onboarding of new union affiliates.
  • Deliver presentations and provide information about Union Savings programs to union representatives and members.
  • Track affiliate communications, meetings, inquiries and follow-up activities.
  • Maintain accurate affiliate contact information and records.
  • Develop and maintain calendars of affiliate events and outreach opportunities.
  • Respond to French-language member inquiries by phone and email.
  • Provide French-language support and review for Union Savings communications, including digital content, newsletters and website materials, as required.
  • Work collaboratively with other Union Savings departments to support organizational initiatives.
  • Attend meetings and events involving Union Savings commercial partners when required.
  • Prepare information and assist with reports related to membership and outreach activities.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is fully bilingual in French and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
  • Has strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Is comfortable presenting information and speaking with individuals and groups.
  • Is organized and able to manage multiple relationships, meetings, events and follow-up activities.
  • Is comfortable working independently and travelling regularly for work.
  • Has a valid driver’s license.
  • Is comfortable using standard office, communication and customer relationship management tools.
  • Is legally entitled to work in Canada.

Experience We Value

We encourage you to apply if you have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Union or labour organizations
  • Membership-based organizations or associations
  • Community outreach or engagement
  • Stakeholder or government relations
  • Member services
  • Business development or partnership development
  • Non-profit organizations
  • Organizing, advocacy or community development
  • Event and conference participation
  • Account or relationship management

Previous experience working in the labour movement is an asset, but it is not required. We are particularly interested in candidates who understand how to build long-term relationships, engage diverse stakeholders and turn conversations into meaningful participation.

What Success Looks Like

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop trusted relationships with Union Savings affiliates.
  • Increase engagement with Union Savings among affiliated unions and their members.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen relationships with existing affiliates.
  • Help introduce Union Savings to prospective affiliates.
  • Represent Union Savings professionally at union meetings, conventions and events.
  • Provide excellent service to French-speaking affiliates and members.
  • Maintain consistent and organized follow-up with the organizations they support.

Working at Union Savings

Union Savings staff are unionized and represented by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW).

The position offers a salary of $65,000 per year plus benefits in accordance with Union Savings policies and the applicable collective agreement.

Because much of this role involves meeting with affiliates and attending events, candidates must be prepared for regular travel, including occasional overnight travel.

How to Apply

Please submit your resume and cover letter outlining your interest in the position and relevant experience by email to jobs@unionsavings.ca with the subject line: Bilingual Membership & Outreach Coordinator.

As part of the recruitment process, candidates will be asked to demonstrate their ability to communicate professionally in both French and English.

Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
