The Role: Automation Specialist

As our Automation Specialist, you will identify, design, and implement automated workflows across all departments at Solution Community—reducing manual work, improving consistency, and freeing our global volunteer teams to focus on high-impact work. You will be the operational backbone that connects our tools and teams, building systems that scale with our mission.

What Will You Do?

  • Audit existing workflows across departments (HR, Operations, IT, Communications, and others) to identify automation opportunities
  • Design and build automated workflows using tools such as Zapier, Make.com, and n8n
  • Integrate and automate processes across our core platforms, including ClickUp, Slack, Google Workspace, and GitHub
  • Maintain and document all active automations, ensuring reliability, version control, and ease of handover
  • Collaborate with department leads to understand their operational pain points and translate them into automation solutions
  • Monitor automation performance, troubleshoot failures, and iterate on existing workflows
  • Establish standards and best practices for automation across the organization

Who Are We Looking For?

  • Hands-on experience building automations with Zapier, Make.com, n8n, or equivalent tools
  • Familiarity with platforms commonly used in distributed teams: ClickUp, Slack, Google Workspace, GitHub
  • Ability to map and analyze business processes across multiple functional areas
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and system logic
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment with minimal oversight
  • Clear communication skills—able to explain technical solutions to non-technical teammates
  • Commitment to Solution Community's mission, values, and volunteer culture
  • Professional reliability, follow-through, and accountability
