Audio/Visual Volunteer – Etobicoke Historical Society
Are you interested in technology and volunteering? The Etobicoke Historical Society (EHS) is looking for a reliable AV Volunteer to support our monthly hybrid Speaker’s Night meetings. Help us connect in-person and remote audiences as we explore Etobicoke’s rich past.

Founded in 1958, EHS is a registered charity dedicated to studying, sharing, and preserving the history and heritage of Etobicoke.
Volunteer Role
You’ll manage the AV setup and support for our hybrid meetings, working closely with the guest Speaker to ensure their presentation runs smoothly for both in-person and online attendees.
Before the Meeting
• Set up and test AV equipment (microphones, speakers, webcam)
• Launch Zoom Webinar and prep PowerPoint slides
• Confirm stable Wi-Fi and accessible presentation files
During the Meeting
• Monitor Zoom chat and relay questions/comments to the host
• Troubleshoot tech issues (audio, video, connectivity)
After the Meeting
• Power down and pack equipment
What You Bring
• Familiarity with Zoom, PowerPoint, and basic AV gear
• Quick problem-solving and adaptability
• Dependable and punctual presence
Time & Location
• One evening per month in Etobicoke, seven months of the year
• Approx. 3–4 hours per meeting
