
Associate, Marketing & Outreach
The Associate, Marketing & Outreach is responsible for supporting the organization’s marketing, communications, member outreach, and business development activities. Reporting to the Manager, Marketing & Communications, the role provides day-to-day support across three core functional areas:
- Marketing & Communications: Lead social media campaigns, e-newsletter preparation and execution, and assist in executing integrated marketing campaigns, particularly for events and programs.
- Next Generation Program: Support the promotion of student and candidate programs by creating marketing collateral, developing campaign materials, and driving program visibility.
- Corporate Relations & Business Development: Assist in promoting advertising products, managing job board postings, and processing inbound advertising and sponsorship requests.
Primary responsibilities include planning, creating, and executing social media content, creation and distribution of e-newsletters, support in execution of event marketing campaigns; developing marketing materials and collateral to promote student and candidate programs; and supporting advertising, job board postings, and inbound sponsorship and advertising inquiries. The Associate collaborates closely with multiple internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of marketing and outreach initiatives that support organizational priorities.
This role is subject to change, based upon the needs of CFA Society Toronto and its members. Other duties may be assigned.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Marketing & Communications (50%)
- Develop and schedule social media content across social media channels, including LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, BlueSky, Substack, YouTube, and X.
- Serve as CFA Society Toronto staff lead on Social Media Committee.
- Assist in the design, development, and deployment of e-newsletters and member communications.
- Assist in video content creation (concepting, scripting, filming, editing, captioning) for social media and digital campaigns
- Support the creation and execution of marketing campaigns for events, programs, and initiatives.
- Provide support on media relations activities.
- Assist with website content updates and basic page maintenance.
- Conduct analytics reporting for digital marketing campaigns (social media, email, and website).
Corporate Relations & Business Development (40%)
- Provide marketing support for advertising and sponsorship opportunities across multiple channels.
- Handle and process inbound advertising and job posting requests.
- Assist in maintaining CRM databases and preparing client-facing materials.
- Assist in prepare sales support materials, including decks, reports, and agreements as needed.
Next Generation Program (Student & Candidate Outreach) (5%)
- Create and update marketing collateral, including flyers, digital assets, and presentations to support outreach and recruitment.
- Assist in promoting events, webinars, and networking opportunities for students and CFA candidates.
- Support with campaign execution to drive awareness and participation in Next Generation programs.
General (5%)
- Support cross-departmental collaboration to ensure alignment and efficiency.
- Provide administrative assistance for ongoing department initiatives and projects.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.
Qualification Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Media Production, or a related field.
- 3 – 5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or association management.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Demonstrated experience with social media platforms and mass e-mail distribution systems
- Graphic, audio, and video editing experience with programs, such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Possess good interpersonal and communication skills, and exercise diplomacy and judgement, to effectively work with end users and members of a project team
- Self-reliant, drive and initiative, and sound judgment
- Ability to work effectively independently and in a team
- Must be able to work in hybrid work environment
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
