Your Role
The Associate Director, Major & Principal Gifts leads RMH Alberta’s major and principal giving portfolio, building meaningful relationships that strengthen our mission and expand our capacity to support families. In this leadership role, you will cultivate, solicit, and steward donors while providing strategic oversight, coaching, and performance management for the Major Gifts, Mid‑Level, Planned Giving, and Stewardship team members. Your leadership in donor engagement and team development directly fuels programs, services, and long‑term sustainability— ensuring RMH Alberta can continue providing comfort, care, and community when families need it most.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of fundraisers and stewardship professionals, ensuring accountability for activity and revenue goals.
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of major and principal gift prospects with a focus on individual giving and family foundations
- Oversee RMH Alberta’s stewardship program and ensure timely, high‑quality donor recognition and reporting.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive plan for growing our planned giving program
- Launch of a mid-level giving program
- Explore and enhance giving mechanisms such as Gifts of Life Insurance, Endowments, and Gifts of Shares / Securities
- Prepare and maintain prospect management documentation, including briefings, contact reports, and donor records in Raiser’s Edge.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align fundraising goals, events, and donor experiences across the organization.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and professional development activities for your team.
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of progressive fundraising experience and 5 years of experience leading successful teams.
- Strong communication, presentation, networking, and relationship‑building skills.
- Experience facilitating major, planned, and complex gifts (e.g., insurance, estate gifts, securities).
- Proven success in portfolio management and achieving fundraising targets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Raiser’s Edge is an asset.
- High professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Ability to travel within Alberta; valid Class 5 license and clear Police Information Check required.
