
Arts Milton Board Member - Treasurer
The Treasurer plays a key leadership role in the financial management and stewardship of not-for-profit organization Arts Milton. Ideally seeking a volunteer with professional bookkeeping or accounting experience.
This volunteer position is responsible for overseeing financial transactions, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and maintaining transparency and accountability in all financial matters. The Treasurer works closely with the Board of Directors, the Program Coordinator and external accountants to support the ongoing financial health of the organization.
Qualifications
- Background in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
- Experience with nonprofit financial management or board governance an asset.
- Proficiency in standard Office applications. (Google applications, Online banking)
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Arts Milton.
Time Commitment
- Approximately 5 hours per month during the slower seasons, and up to 10 hours a month during the busy seasons (Sept and Oct), including attendance at Board meetings and review of financial records.
- Additional time required during year-end reconciliation and reporting periods.
