Position Summary

The Applicant & Regulator Support Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting

Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) as they begin their nursing journey in Canada. As a primary point of contact, the Coordinator assists IENs in understanding the NNAS application process by providing information, referring them to appropriate resources, supporting the application process, and helping them navigate the regulatory and immigration requirements necessary to live and work in Canada.

In this role, the Coordinator serves as a key liaison with both internal and external stakeholders, working collaboratively to proactively identify and address barriers that impact the applicant experience. Additionally, the Coordinator is responsible for identifying needs and coordinating the development of programs and resources aimed at improving the NNAS application process, ensuring a smooth, supportive, and responsive journey for all applicants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for applicants navigating the NNAS application process, including identifying issues, problem-solving, and referring applicants to appropriate resources when needed.
  • Coordinates NNAS's concern handling process including providing resolution options and escalating concerns to management in alignment with established policies,
  • Monitors key trends, data, and emerging risks to identify lessons learned and make informed recommendations aimed at improving application efficiency and enhancing the client experience, as part of ongoing quality improvement.
  • Collaborates with vendors, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to facilitate issue resolution and ensure applicants are connected with relevant support and resources.
  • Communicates with applicants and internal stakeholders to provide timely status updates, consult on complex issues, and report significant changes affecting the application process.
  • Maintains tools and resources on the corporate website, including Excel sheets, report logs, and shared files, ensuring they are up to date and accurate.
  • Participates in pilot projects and cross-functional teams supporting organizationwide initiatives, contributing subject matter expertise and applicant-focused insights.
  • Supports the development of educational materials, delivers applicant and stakeholder webinars, and represents the organization at relevant conferences and events.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and experience

  • Post-secondary education required; a university degree is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Excellent inclusive written and verbal communication skills, with a strong understanding and commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI)/Exceptional client service skills, with a strong dedication to client satisfaction and an empathetic approach, particularly toward the unique challenges faced by immigrants.
  • Solid understanding of immigration processes and professional licensure requirements in Canada.
  • Proven ability to contribute to a supportive, inclusive, and team-oriented work culture.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • High attention to detail, with well-developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities effectively in a virtual office environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Skilled at building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and navigate new databases, digital platforms, and tools.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident residing within Ontario, Canada.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for staff meetings, training, and conferences.
  • Capacity to maintain a secure home office setup with a reliable and secure highspeed internet connection.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is required.
