About the Role

Baby season is one of the busiest and most rewarding times at Procyon Wildlife. As an Animal Care volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in helping care for, feed, and nurture Ontario’s native wildlife. The more volunteers we have, the more animals we can save.

Whether you’re looking to give back, learn something new, or make a real difference, volunteering with Procyon Wildlife is a meaningful way to support wildlife in need.

What We Provide

  • All training
  • All personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • No previous experience required
  • Supportive, hands-on learning environment

A $50.00 initial fee applies and includes training, a volunteer tee-shirt, and an online manual.

Volunteer Responsibilities

  • Animal care and feeding
  • Housekeeping and habitat cleaning
  • Monitoring animal wellbeing
  • Clear communication with staff and volunteers
  • Exercising caution and sound judgment when working with wild animals
  • Representing Procyon Wildlife professionally, especially when interacting with the public

Volunteer Requirements

To qualify as a volunteer, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have reliable transportation for scheduled shifts
  • Commit to a regular schedule (varies by role)
  • Treat members of the public with courtesy and respect, as we rely on public support
