ABOUT THE ALBERTA PORK LOUNGE

Love food, beer, and great vibes? We’re looking for volunteers to help bring the Alberta Pork Lounge to life at one of Alberta’s biggest festivals: the Calgary International Beerfest.

This is a fun, social volunteer opportunity where you’ll be part of a high-energy booth designed to inspire festival-goers to try new pork dishes, pick up pork at their local butcher or grocery store, and feel confident cooking pork at home.

If you enjoy chatting with people, sharing cool swag, and being part of a lively festival atmosphere, this one’s for you.

WHAT IS THE ALBERTA PORK LOUNGE?

The Alberta Pork Lounge is a welcoming, food-forward space inside Beerfest where great beer meets great food. Our booth features:

  • Prize giveaways
  • Fun, free swag for guests
  • Pork recipe cards and cooking inspiration
  • Informative materials about pork and how to enjoy it at home

Volunteers help create an inviting, upbeat experience that encourages people to stop, engage, and leave feeling inspired to choose pork.

VOLUNTEER PERKS

We believe volunteering should be rewarding and fun. As a thank-you for your time, volunteers receive:

  • A pink Pick Pork t-shirt
  • A pink Think Pink ball cap
  • Cool pink sunglasses
  • Vendor food/drink tickets to enjoy Beerfest after your shift

You’ll also get a behind-the-scenes experience and the chance to volunteer alongside passionate pork people.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Welcoming guests to the Alberta Pork Lounge
  • Running prize giveaways
  • Handing out free swag, recipe cards, and pork information
  • Keeping the lounge area tidy and inviting
  • Creating a fun, friendly atmosphere for festival-goers

WHO CAN VOLUNTEER?

  • You must be 18+ (Beerfest requirement)
  • Available for at least one session
  • Comfortable engaging with the public
  • Reliable, friendly, and ready to have fun
