Black Immigrant Thrives is a dynamic organization dedicated to empowering grassroots Black immigrants through unity, resilience, and collaboration. Our mission is to drive positive change through advocacy, community engagement, storytelling, and media initiatives. By supporting young individuals in their academic, professional, and entrepreneurial journeys, we aim to break barriers and create lasting impact. Through interactive platforms, mentorship programs, and community forums, we foster a supportive environment where young Black immigrants can thrive.

Position Overview:

Black Immigrant Thrives is seeking passionate and committed young leaders to join our Youth Advisory Committee. As a committee member, you will provide valuable insights, contribute to decision-making processes, and help shape programs that directly impact Black immigrant youth. This is a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills, advocate for your community, and play an active role in initiatives that drive meaningful change.

Responsibilities:

Youth Advocacy: Represent the interests and experiences of Black immigrant youth in advisory meetings and initiatives.

Program Development: Provide input on programs, events, and policies that support youth empowerment.

Community Engagement: Help foster connections among young immigrants and participate in outreach efforts.

Mentorship & Leadership: Support peer mentorship initiatives and collaborate with organizational leaders.

Strategic Contribution: Assist in shaping the vision of Black Immigrant Thrives by sharing innovative ideas and feedback.

Event Participation: Attend meetings, workshops, and community events to stay engaged and contribute actively.

Qualifications:

Passion for advocacy, community service, and youth empowerment.

Understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by Black immigrant youth.

Strong communication and leadership skills.

Willingness to dedicate time for meetings, planning sessions, and community activities.

Open to individuals aged 20- 29 who identify as an African, Canadarribean or Black
