Unpaid Volunteer Position

7 out of 10 children in low- and middle-income countries are growing up unable to read.

At Amarok Society: Start With Mothers, we’re changing that through an innovative community-based education model. We teach mothers unable to read in the slums of South Asia and Africa and each mother then teaches groups of children in her neighbourhood.

Twenty years later, children from these programs have gone on to high school, launched businesses, and even graduated from colleges and universities.

Now we’re looking for a practical, tech-savvy volunteer to help strengthen the systems behind this growing international movement.

About the Role

We’re seeking someone to join our Advisory Board who enjoys working “under the hood” — whether that means supporting websites, managing Google Admin systems, improving digital organization, or helping automate simple processes.

This is an opportunity to contribute meaningful skills to a small but ambitious international charity while gaining valuable nonprofit leadership experience.

Responsibilities

✔ Manage Google Workspace / Google Admin accounts

✔ Support website updates and troubleshooting

✔ Help streamline systems and workflows for a remote team

✔ Improve digital security, backups, and organization

✔ Support online forms, registrations, and data management

✔ Troubleshoot technology issues

✔ Help organize shared drives and cloud systems

✔ Participate in monthly online advisory board meetings

We’re Looking For Someone Who

  • Enjoys solving practical technology problems
  • Learns new systems independently
  • Communicates technical ideas clearly to non-technical people
  • Is organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
  • Works well in a collaborative remote environment
  • Believes education can transform communities
