Adult Day Program Volunteer

Position Summary

1. To be aware with hand over protocol and go with a driver to pick up/drop off clients

2. To assist a program leader to facilitate ADP programs including setting up before and cleaning after each program

3. To Assist ADP staff to serve meals and snacks

4. To provide support in toileting such as escorting the client to go washroom

Additional Information

Initial Volunteer orientation to agency and program;

On-the-job shadowing/scheduled training with an experienced volunteer or staff.

Coordinator provides on-going support, answer questions and explain policies.

Volunteer will be trained to carry out activation programs and working with seniors.

An opportunity to become acquainted and socialize with the program participants, working as a team with program staff and other volunteers;

The knowledge of playing a vital role in the success of the community services;

Gain knowledge of the frail elderly;

An invitation to the Annual Volunteer Recognition Event;

Letter of Reference (after completion or required duration).

Close to Bus and Streetcar stop. Free parking also available.

Minimum age

Minimum hours per week

4 hours shifts: in the morning from 8:30am to 12:30pm or afternoon from 12:00pm to 4:00pm
