Our Ministry
ARISE was founded in 2013 by Rev. Deb Stanbury as a ministry of the Presbytery of East
Toronto, to help women in the sex trade to reclaim their lives through hope, love, and justice.
Over the past decade, ARISE has grown and evolved to serve even more individuals involved in
the sex trade to reflect the changing needs of those in our community. In 2022, Rev. Katherine
McCloskey, a long-time supporter, volunteer, and board member of ARISE stepped into the role
of Executive Director to carry on the mission to journey with those who are involved in the sex
trade, are survivors of sex trafficking, and/or have experienced sexual exploitation, because

Job Purpose
The Administrator at ARISE Ministry plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient
operation of our ministry by managing administrative functions and supporting the team’s
efforts to achieve our mission. This role involves maintaining accurate records of donations and
expenditures, recordkeeping and filing, coordinating communication, and providing essential
support to ARISE staff in their day-to-day activities. The Administrator helps to present ARISE
Ministry to our community as a place where hope lives.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ongoing physical and digital file maintenance and retention
- Data management and entry regarding donations, expenses, etc.
- Coordination of payroll and accounts payable to ensure timely payments
- In-person banking at local branch
- Attend Board of Director meetings, take accurate meeting minutes, and facilitate
communication between the ARISE board and ARISE staff
- Attend staff meetings
- Technical support and account management for the ARISE team
- Donor and funder engagement across various mediums, such as, email, phone calls, thank
you letters, tax receipts, etc.
- Creation and dispersal of ARISE promotional materials, including newsletters, social media
content, pamphlets, bookmarks, website, etc.
- Assist with event coordination and promotion
- Overseeing staff scheduling and timekeeping
- Mailing

- Experience in administration, bookkeeping, payroll, and data management is an asset
- Completed education relevant to bookkeeping, administration, etc. is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Technical skills and familiarity with QuickBooks, Sumac, Microsoft 365 are an asset
- Technical skills and familiarity with Mailchimp, Canva, Wix are preferred
- Ability to solve tech issues through troubleshooting and seeking assistance from service
provider
- Knowledge of common bookkeeping and payroll practices
- Skillset relevant to time management, prioritization, and self-discipline
- Organized and detail-oriented information management skills
- Clear communication across various mediums
- Ability to drive is an asset
Working Conditions
- Hybrid position- both in-office and remote
- Will be required to attend on-site a minimum of once a week
- In-person and Zoom meetings
- Will involve working on a computer for most of the work day
