
Administrative Assistant
The Passenger and Commercial Vessel Association (PCVA) is a non-profit association that promotes the general welfare of the passenger vessel industry; to keep members informed as to developments pertaining to the industry, to represent the industry in the area of government regulations, to promote and encourage excellence in safety aboard vessels of the PCVA, and to promote any enterprise which will benefit members of the Association collectively.

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for working with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors achieving PCVA’s strategic plan and for overseeing the operational and financial administration and program delivery for the organization. This position reports directly to the Executive Director. This position is expected to assist in carrying out the following primary activities:
✔ coordinating Board and Committee meetings, taking minutes and conducting appropriate follow up activities
✔ manage invoicing members and associates for annual membership, training certificates, conference dues and sponsorships
✔ maintain the Google Drive
✔ maintain membership directory and emailing lists
✔ internal and external marketing and communications including newsletters/bulletins and social media
✔ production of Transport Canada certificates
✔ organize an annual conference and AGM
✔ other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
✔ experience in a non profit organization and working with a Board
✔ an upbeat personality with the ability to be self-motivated to carry out administrative tasks with little supervision
✔ exceptional writing and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate the organization's mission to members, the industry and the overall community through strong oral and written communication
✔ understanding of and experience with Google Workspace, Quick-books on line, Constant Contact, Office 365 and Zoom/Teams
Compensation This position is a stand alone part time employment opportunity (650 hours/annum) The PCVA offers reasonable compensation based on skill and expertise. The successful candidate will maintain their own remote office with all required equipment in house. All reasonable business expenses will be covered as agreed.
