The Ottawa and District Labour Council is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant. Under the supervision of the Labour Council President, the Administrative Assistant will provide support and assistance in a professional and friendly environment.
General Duties:
- Administrative Support (including document filing and record keeping, proofreading, processing (general e-mail and mail) correspondence.
- Handling reception including providing information as requested.
- Processing all incoming and outgoing mail and couriers.
- Operating office equipment including photocopiers and postage machine.
- Preparing information packages.
- Set-up and coordination of meetings and conference calls – participant arrangements and logistics.
- Coordination of in-house and out-of-house document storage.
- Update master databases and mailing lists.
- Performing other general office duties as and when assigned.
Required Skills:
- Administrative experience in a professional environment.
- Superior organizational, time management, problem solving skills, and a strong work ethic.
- Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of MS Office applications
- Knowledge of the labour movement an asset.
- Social Media skills an asset.
- Bilingualism an asset
