RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

The Human Rights Legal Support Centre (HRLSC) provides a broad range of free legal assistance to individuals throughout Ontario who have experienced discrimination contrary to Ontario’s Human Rights Code. The HRLSC is seeking an experienced and strategic Resource Development Specialist to lead, coordinate and support the organization’s resource generation, fundraising and partnership development efforts. This role is pivotal in supporting the Centre’s long-term financial sustainability and its capacity to deliver impactful, human rights legal support services across Ontario. The successful candidate for this exciting opportunity will have:


• Exceptional writing and communication skills.


• Understanding of human rights issues impacting marginalized, Code-protected communities.


• Familiarity with and understanding of human rights issues affecting Code-designated communities.


• Strong research, analysis and evaluation skills.


• Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.


• Familiarity with donor databases (e.g., Salesforce, Bloomerang).


• Ability to problem-solve and think creatively to assist clients in reaching a resolution to their dispute.


• Ability to communicate technical/legal information to a variety of audiences considering varying levels of understanding.


• Analytical skills to research and analyze information, evaluate program successes, and recommend appropriate approaches/ strategies.

Full Job Description This is a full-time, contract position until March 2028. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring a combination of in- person work from the HRLSC’s Toronto head office and remote work from home, each week. This arrangement may be subject to change as part of the HRLSC’s Recovery Plan process. The HRLSC provides a competitive total compensation package. Salary range for these positions is $81,060 – $98,975.65. The usual hours of work are 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Why Join Us?
