About us
Shelter Movers is a national, volunteer-powered charity that provides free moving and storage services to women and children fleeing abuse. In collaboration with local businesses and community partners, we support families transitioning to a life free of violence.
Shelter Movers' volunteers have completed moves for over 1,000 families, coordinating trucks, storage, security personnel, language interpreters and pet fostering, all at no cost. We currently operate in Greater Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver and Halifax. In 2020, we anticipate establishing new chapters in Waterloo Region, Edmonton and Montreal.
