About us

Peel Addiction Assessment and Referral Centre (PAARC) is a community-based organization serving people who are concerned about their own or somoeone else's use of substances, problem gambling and gaming, behavourial dependencies, and co-occuring emotional and mental health concerns. PAARC has many programs to offer clients, including community withdrawal management, day programs, comprehensive assessments, referrals to other programs and services, case management, individual and group counselling, and a smoking cessation program. We offers programs specific to youth and older persons, and specific to opioid use. We employ Registered Practical Nurses on staff who contribute to a comprehensive assessment and treatment planning.

PAARC offers clients several options for accessing our services, including visits to one of our office locations, meetings in the community or virtual meeting by telephone or using the Zoom for Healthcare platform. PAARC is also a site provider for the Remedial Measures Back on Track Program for persons who are required to complete the Back on Track Program by the Ministry of Transportation in order to maintain their driver's licence.

PAARC is involved in many partnerships with other organizations that help us expand our programs and services, including Drug Treatment Court and Housing Support. We tailor treatment plans to individual needs, utilizing harm reduction and trauma-informed frameworks and a person-centred approach.
