About us
Nanaimo Youth Services Association (NYSA) has worked alongside youth in Nanaimo for more than 50 years. We provide housing, employment training, and life skills programming for youth ages 16–30 who are building paths toward independence.
Our work focuses on meeting real needs — safe housing, practical employment skills, and consistent support over time. We prioritize structure, accountability, and long-term relationships that help youth build stability beyond a single program or placement.
NYSA operates youth housing programs, including Waddington House and Rowe House, delivers BladeRunners employment training, runs L2N driver education, and offers community-based programming such as Modern Manhood and The Bridge Centre.
The work is local and relationship-based, grounded in the understanding that independence is built through skills, responsibility, and steady support.
