About us
Lifewater Canada is a faith based NGO focusing on training and equiping local people in Liberia, Northern Kenya and Northern Haiti to drill wells, repair handpumps, build water systems and hold hygiene workshops.
Lifewater is guided by four key Development Goals:
- Meet Basic Water Availability Service Levels
- Provide safe, drinkable water
- Actively Engage Communities
- Plan for Long-term Maintenance
The first two goals have to do with ensuring that people have a 30 minute or less round-trip access to potable water that is available year-round. The second two goals relate to community ownership of water projects and their committment to long-term maintenance of these projects.
