We currently are offering face to face group programs at our temporary space, which we lease from The Village of Winston Park, located at 695 Block Line Road, Kitchener.
We are a fully accessible facility.
Mission Statement:
K-W Seniors Day Program endeavours to provide high quality programs and activities using a client-centred approach that addresses the social, nutritional, and physical health and wellbeing of clients.
Vision:
Our vision is to maintain the independence and enhance the health, wellness, dignity, and quality of life of our clients, who may be socially isolated and have physical, cognitive, and/or mental health issues.
Goal:
1. Promote wellness and independence among community-dwelling older adults and other high-risk individuals who may be socially isolated and have physical, cognitive, and/or mental health issues so that they are able to age at home, in dignity, for as long as possible while maintaining a high quality of life;
2. Reduce social isolation of program participants by building an environment that fosters social participation and inclusion; and
3. Provide ongoing informal support to care partners to help meet the needs of clients and reduce caregiver burden.
History:
The K-W Seniors Day Program has been providing services to seniors and older adults since its inception in 1974. We are a non-profit organization primarily funded by the Ministry of Health through Ontario Heath West Region and the KW4 Health Team. The program leases space and purchases services from Schlegel Villages; however, we operate independently and are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
