About us

Founded in 2008, HOPE is a network of support groups for parents concerned about their teen or adult children who are facing challenges, including mental health issues, substance misuse, addictions, conflicts with the law, school difficulties, and more.

As a registered Canadian charity, HOPE provides our diverse membership with high-quality, consistent, evidence-informed skills and resources. Our mission is to support parents and caregivers as they nurture healthier parent-child relationships, implement self-care strategies, and develop skills that encourage resilience, resourcefulness, and pro-social behaviours in their young people. While HOPE’s peer support is aimed at parents and guardians, our programming has a positive spillover effect on young people, their families, and communities.

Since its founding, HOPE has served almost 1,500 parents and guardians from all walks of life and backgrounds. Our experience has strengthened our offerings; the University of Toronto’s renowned Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) has positively reviewed our materials and outcomes. We are well-positioned to grow substantially to meet the urgent need for accessible, effective, and practical parent support.

After 16 years as an all-volunteer organization, HOPE is ready to take its impact to the next level by hiring an inspiring and strategic Executive Director (ED) to lead this exciting next chapter.
